Christmas wreath with skewers The last minute holiday appetizer you needed!
There is something almost magical about holiday appetizers: small bites capable of cheering up even the grumpiest guest and whetting the appetite without overshadowing the main course. And in this festive setting, cherry tomato, mozzarella, ham and olive skewers have everything to succeed, especially for their presentation. Their colors and their arrangement, in the shape of a Christmas wreath, directly invite you to relate this appetizer to Christmas Eve and Christmas. So, make a gap between the charcuterie and cheese boards (which are very nice, but we have already seen them a thousand times) to place this appetizer and give a festive touch to your table. This edible Christmas wreath has it all, combining aesthetics and flavor.
As you can see, you don't need to be a Michelin star chef or spend hours in the kitchen. This appetizer is easy to prepare, you can prepare it in advance and keep it in the fridge until serving time, and it also has that visual touch that will make your guests take out their cell phones to immortalize it before the first bite. And, best of all, you can customize it with other ingredients you have on hand: cubes of cheese, grapes or even pickles for the more daring. The idea is simple, but its impact on the table is enormous. Do you like the idea? We'll tell you how to do it!
Ingredients and materials needed:
Ingredients:
- About 20 mini mozzarella bowls
- About 20 cherry tomatoes
- About 40 olives
- Fresh rosemary
- 4 ham slices
Materials:
- 20 long wooden skewers
Step by step:
- Cut strips of cooked ham lengthwise and fold 2 or 3 times. Wash the cherry tomatoes and place each ingredient in separate containers.
- To assemble the skewers, alternate the ingredients in the order you prefer, always starting with the tomato that will serve as the base.
- Arrange the skewers around a shallow plate, forming a circle. If desired, add a second layer for more volume. Complete the presentation by decorating with rosemary sprigs, which will add color and a festive touch.
- And that's it! You can now serve your Christmas skewer wreath to show off and enjoy.
