Have you ever wondered how to be sure that eggs are ok for consumption? A spoiled egg can contaminate other foods and cause health problems. In this article, we'll teach you a simple trick to identify whether an egg is good or spoiled, thus ensuring safer and tastier meals. Check it out!
Of course, check the expiration date of the egg!
If you buy from a market, the expiration date is printed on the egg itself or on the package.
On the other hand, once they've been boiled, they can be consumed no more than 2 days later.
That's the technique:
1. fill a container with cold water (a large bowl or a deep saucepan).
2. Gently place the egg inside.
3. Then observe:
- It floats on the surface: it's no longer good, throw it away
- It falls to the bottom of the container: it's good and fresh, try it
- It floats between the two: we can consume it, but prefer to make it like an omelette or hard-boiled.

Conclusion:
The less the egg floats, the fresher it is :-)
