Functional teas for the whole day: Hydrate, deflate and balance your body naturally!

Nature offers powerful ingredients capable of promoting health, well-being and even a better mood for everyday life. The functional are a simple, accessible and natural way to take care of your body - and when combined in the right way, they can help with metabolism, digestion, relaxation and even fluid retention.

In this article, you'll find an itinerary of functional teas to consume throughout the day, respecting the body's rhythms and optimizing their benefits. All with ingredients that are easy to find and prepared in a practical way.

Morning - Energizing and thermogenic tea

Ginger tea + lemon + mint

This combination is perfect for starting the day with energy, without necessarily resorting to caffeine. Ginger is thermogenic, which means it speeds up the metabolism and increases calorie burning. Lemon is rich in vitamin C and has an alkalizing action, while mint refreshes and aids digestion.

How to make it:

  • Boil 17 fl oz/500 ml of water with 2-3 slices of ginger for 5 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and add the juice of 1/2 a lemon and mint leaves.
  • Cover and leave to infuse for 5 to 10 minutes.

Best time to drink: in the morning, on an empty stomach or after breakfast

Afternoon - Detox and light diuretic tea

Hibiscus tea + mint + pineapple peel (or apple)

Ideal for the middle of the day, this tea helps combat fluid retention, facilitates digestion and offers antioxidant properties. Hibiscus is known for its diuretic effect, while pineapple or apple peel adds flavor and natural anti-inflammatory compounds. Mint contributes to freshness and relief from intestinal gas.

How to make it:

  • Boil 35 fl oz/1 liter of water with well-washed pineapple (or apple) peel for 10 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat, add 1 tablespoon of dried hibiscus and a few mint leaves.
  • Cover for 10 minutes, strain and serve hot or chilled.

Best time to drink: after lunch or in the middle of the afternoon.

Evening - Relaxing and Digestive Tea

Chamomile tea + holy grass + fennel

To slow down and prepare the body for rest, there's nothing better than a calming and digestive blend. Chamomile has a mild sedative effect, lemongrass helps to relax the muscles and fennel relieves gastric discomfort.

How to make it:

  • Heat 17 fl oz/500 ml of water until almost boiling.
  • Add 1 sachet or 1 tablespoon each of chamomile, lemon balm and fennel.
  • Cover and leave to infuse for 10 minutes.
  • Strain and drink warm

Best time to drink: between 8pm and 9pm, before bed.

Final Tips

  • Avoid sweetening teas with sugar. If you prefer, use honey (at night) or natural stevia.
  • Intersperse with pure water throughout the day. Teas help, but they don't completely replace hydration with water.
  • Consume in moderation. Even natural ingredients, if in excess, can cause imbalances.
  • Store iced teas well. You can prepare them in the morning and keep them in a thermos or in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
