Dal Palak recipe is a great recipe that combines both the goodness of the Arhar lentils as well as spinach leaves. Its tasty as well as healthy too.

  • Wash and soak dal in water for 30 minutes or 45 minutes. Cook the dal in a pressure cooker till 3/4 cooked.
  • In the meantime, clean and chop the spinach leaves.
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil or ghee and fry the cumin seeds, chopped onion, ginger and garlic till soft in a pan.
  • Add the tomatoes and the rest of the masala powders. Fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the boiled dal, chopped spinach and little water. Cook over a low fire till the dal and the spinach leaves becomes soft.
  • You can squeeze lime juice on the dal just before serving. Lime juice gives a nice tang to this spicy dal recipe.
