{Bistro Restaurant Hofgarten in Aachen, Germany}

By The Travelling Tastebuds (Visit website)

I am one post closer to catching up on old foodie posts from these past few weeks. YAY! I was unable to post at all yesterday because the hard drive in my computer crashed! Can you believe it? Never thought it would happen to me… *knock on wood* I wasn’t completely stressed because I had Guido here to fix the problem… I was more anxious than anything. But everything is up & running… lost a few files & programs… but it’s no big deal. At least I can blog again :) And by the way… Guido is some sort of computer genius… I mean… my hard drive CRASHED! My laptop would NOT turn on… but he’s a miracle worker I you. Anyways… this foodie post is from lunch while visiting a special cathedral in Aachen. I have yet to complain about any type of food I’ve tried in Germany… which leaves me to believe that I have European tastebuds. So as usual… it was delicious… and there is really only so many times I can say that something is delicious before I start to sound like a broken record. This will be mostly pictures because:

I don’t want to be redundant on just how delicious German food is.
It is late here & I really would :love: to get some shut eye.

So I hope you enjoy the photos :)

Hawaiian pizza… my gut tells me this isn’t very German.

Tuna salad… this was my dish!

Guido ordered some sort of open-faced sandwhich. I’m not sure how filling it was because he was picking food off everybody else’s plate!

I’m inclined to say that this is a very typical German dish. At least the sausage & saurkraut are German… not sure about the mashed potatoes.

Lentil stew.

Lana’s salami pizza. She finished all but 2 slices… girl’s inherited our healthy appetite apparently.

The menu referred to this as an apple pie… but I think of it more as an apple cake.

Question:

What type of foodie blogs do you enjoy most? Photo blogs… photo & personal life blogs… recipe blogs… ect? I enjoy all three but my blog tends to gravitate more towards photo & personal life blog. While I :love: experimenting in the kitchen… I :love: looking at pictures of food even more. I could sit in the bookstore for hours just browsing through foodie photos. And a little factual tidbit about myself… ALL my recipebooks MUST have photos of each & every recipe. No matter how good a recipe might be… I will not purchase the book without photos. You know the saying, “You eat first with your eyes.”? Well… I’m inclined to think that is true.
