Asian Turkey Cabbage Wraps
This is a little twist on my favorite chicken lettuce wraps. I had ground turkey on hand [ not to mention it crumbles up nice and small which is good for these wraps] and Cabbage packs more nutritional punch than lettuce. Also, good to know, in raw form the Napa Cabbage has a very mild-lettuce like flavor. ~Ingredients 1 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar 1?4 teaspoons Ground black Pepper 2 tsp ground mustard 1?4 teaspoons Ground Ginger [powdered] 1.5 TB Sesame Oil 3 TB Soy Sauce 2 Tablespoons extra light Olive Oil--for stir frying 1 lb ground turkey, browned, drained 1 cup Diced Green Onion [about 4 or 5 whole green onions, white tip to end of green] 3 cloves Garlic, Minced 1 medium carrot, cut into skinny straws 2 cups shredded cabbage 8 leaves Of Chinese Napa Cabbage, Washed And Dried Prep Time 15 Minutes Cook Time 15 Minutes Servings 3 Difficulty Easy ~Instructions For stir fry sauce, mix together rice vinegar, brown sugar, ground pepper, ground ginger, ground mustard, sesame oil, and soy sauce, making sure to dissolve brown sugar [I heated it all for about 30 seconds in microwave to be sure]. Set aside. Brown meat, and remove from pan. To hot pan, add olive oil and onions, carrots, cabbage, and garlic to pan; brown about 2-3 minutes. When onions, cabbage, and garlic are tender, add stir fry sauce and browned turkey. Saute mixture for a few minutes 3-5 and remove from heat. Spoon mixture into individual raw cabbage leaves. ***I add crunchy Chow Mein noodles to each roll up, for a bit of crunch--SOOOOO Delicious!!
