Cable Car Cocktail

This is the drink that I am featuring during the cocktail hour on Thanksgiving Day.  It is a wonderful, citrusy tipple.  The cinnamon sugar rim is a must have and adds to the overall appearance and taste of the drink.  Enjoy!

Cable Car Cocktail


Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients:


1 oz orange liqueur


2 oz Captain Morgan?s spiced rum


1 oz lime juice


1 oz of sweet and sour mix


Sugar


Cinnamon


Method:


Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of a martini glass.  Dip the rim in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.  Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.  Combine all ingredients in the cocktail shaker.  Shake well and strain into the martini glass.


*Note: The best sweet and sour mix is equal parts of fresh lemon juice and simple syrup.  Simple syrup is equal parts of water and sugar heated over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.  Cool the syrup prior to using.  Store the simple syrup in the refrigerator in a glass jar for a few weeks.
