Chocolate Caramel and Hazelnut Torte(cake?)
![]() The difference between a cake and a torte is simple! A torte is made with ground nuts, a little flour and lots of eggs, making it rich and dense where as a cake is made with more flour resulting in a lighter cake! In this case I used my tried and tested Chocolate cake recipe, but after adding all the other interesting flavors, the cake was dense and moist and therefore it could pass as a Torte! For the Chocolate Cake recipe, click here!!!! To finish off the cake you will need the following: - Butter cream frosting - I found this recipe on Joy the Baker's site .......delicious!! - hazelnut liqueur - 1 tin dulche de leche - 125ml chopped hazelnuts - 3 packets of chocolate-coated pretzel sticks After the cakes have cooled down, drizzle with the liqueur. Spread some of the dulche de leche on one cake and top with some of the butter cream. Place the other cake on top and cover the entire cake with the remaining buttercream frosting. Decorate with the pretzel sticks and a fancy ribbon!!!
