DVD Thursday plus a few other things!

By Running away? I'll help you pack. (Visit website)

I read this book about 7 years ago and loved it, it was written so beautiful of a love of ones daughter and what a dad will do to find his daughters killer. The movie of course took some different paths some a little on the odd side. But overall it kept you wanting to watch and follow along with the story. For you have not read the book you'll really enjoy it and then I say go read the book you'll enjoy it even more.

It had a lovely story of what a dad will do to find justice. Now I haven't always been the biggest fan of Marky Mark ... sorry going back to my New Kids on the Block days but he has surprised me over the years with the roles he has done. This one is one that is top notice. Stanley Tucci as the crazy person is just nuts, he played it to a T! A good one to watch, not sure if I would want to buy it just because I don't really like to cry more then usual, Rick says I'm a baby with movies and yes even commercials! Enjoy!
When 14-year-old Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan) is murdered, she watches from above as her family deals with her tragic death -- and as her killer prepares to strike again. Torn between vengeance and healing, Susie's loved ones are forever changed.

The boys loved this one, we watched it several times I actually had to sneak it to the mailbox! I watched a little bit of it while hanging laundry. It was so cute, I've always enjoyed The Backyardigans since they show the boys to use their imagination to find new words. The kids will love watching the "princesses" trying to escape the castle! GREAT movie for kid night!

Everyone's favorite gang of toddler-sized adventurers with very active imaginations are back, and this time, Tasha and Uniqua are damels in distress, trapped in a castle tower and eager to escape the clutches of their captors, Pablo and Tyrone. Follow along in this and three other awesome adventures as the intrepid explorers discover a world of endless magic and roleplaying fun, all as close by as their own backyard.

So I saw the previous when this was coming to the theater and I thought it would be a GREAT movie I was so excited to watch it! Then it came and I tried I really did I try but I couldn't give it more than 1/2 hour. It was horrible, now I usually love British comedy and shows but this was just bad! It was full of nudity and bad language which I can usually hang with but this was just over the top and you kept going really did you need that? If you have it on your queue really I suggest removing it, you mind will thank me!

In mid- to late-'60s Britain, an unusual yet colorful subculture sprang up and thrived as a product of the upswing in British pop music, only to meet its doom within a few short years. Though the BBC functioned as the country's main source of news and music, its programmers offered very little airtime to rock & roll -- which left an overwhelming need unfulfilled. In response, small bands of "pirate" radio enthusiasts set up broadcasting towers on boats just outside of English boundary waters, and transmitted signals to an estimated 25 million listeners, 24 hours a day and seven days per week.
This was a tear jerker, Debby @ JUST BREATHE posted about it so I had to catch it and I'm glad I did. It was a great movie that made me cry and show such forgiveness I don't know I would have the strength for.

I think the Amish are amazing some of their ways may be strange but they sure have a sense of faith and family. I'm said they shun people that leave and I'm not sure I could ever do that. To forget and not speak to someone who is no longer in your same belief is hard for me. Such a tragic movie that is a true story that tore at my heart strings and made me cry. Catch it if you can the next time they show it.
The peaceful Amish community of Nickel Mines is forever changed when a gunman senselessly takes the lives of five girls in a schoolhouse shooting before taking his own life.

What transpires afterward takes the community by storm, as the media descend on the town and criticize its Amish leaders for their notion of unconditional forgiveness of the shooter and their outreach of support to his widow, Amy Roberts (Tammy Blanchard). Devastated by her daughter?s death, Ida Graber (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) finds herself struggling with her community?s belief in the transcending power of forgiveness.

Wow is all I have to say you all know how I love TV movies this one came on again this weekend and I was able to catch the parts I missed. This is a crazy story of lies and deception. Can you imagine being married to a man that turned out not to be the man everyone and you thought he was?

Then he kidnapps his daughter and even cuts and changes her appearance to be like a boy!!! This is a startling story that draws you in and as a mom was very unsettling! I just love Sherry Stringfield from her ER days and it was nice to see her in this role. Now I was never a fan of Will & Grace but Eric McCormack was wonderful in this role. Scary good!
In what was called ?the longest-running con in FBI history,? Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter, the man people knew as ?Clark Rockefeller? (Eric McCormack), had brilliantly impersonated numerous people, ranging from a talk show host to a Pentagon advisor, before ultimately claiming to be an heir to the famous Rockefeller family. Confident from the success of his prior scams, Clark quickly became well known and highly respected among Boston?s elite and used his purported high-society status to charm his way into the life of Sandra Boss (Sherry Stringfield), a millionaire with a Harvard MBA and a partner at the prestigious management-consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Following a whirlwind courtship, the two married and had a daughter, Reigh (Emily Alyn Lind, ?Eastwick?), before their rocky 12-year union ended in divorce, leading Clark to abduct his beloved daughter after losing custody to Sandra. With the help of FBI agent Megan Norton (Regina Taylor), Sandra?s search for her daughter exposed Clark?s lifelong con game for the world to see, and ultimately raised questions about the real man and the deception he is capable of.

I'm a little sad one of the shows I've enjoyed has come to an end :(. We have dish network and for about 4 months didn't have ABC so I missed a bunch of eposides ... yes I have them added to my netflix when they come to DVD. So I missed the whole change to new glasses and more fashionable Betty. So this last week was the series finale.

I think they did a great job of wrapping up the show with Willamina gaining a little bit of a heart and the job she has always wanted. Justin finally came out to the family and Betty moving to London. I was a little sad they didn't show her and Daniel finally together but they did leave it in case they ever did a reunion show. Over all they did a great job, now it's no Mash ending but hey who could ever touch that? Thanks for ending it and not just leaving us hanging like so many shows that drive me nuts!!!

My new favorite show! As I said I missed Ugly Betty and did a search for Ugly Betty and found it on Soap Net TV usually I don't go to this station. Rick on the other hand goes there a lot to watch old 90210 reruns ... lol.

I came across Being Erica, if you haven't seen this show you MUST see it! It's like a Quantum Leap kind of show (if you don't know that one you're missing out). Erica has a Dr. Tom that is a therapist but not like any other therapist he send Erica back in time to her regrets from the past to change the future.

"Being Erica" is a one-hour series that explores the life of Erica Strange, a woman who has been given an amazing gift: the opportunity to relive a regret from her past enabling her to make a positive change in the present. Erica's present is this: she is 32 years old, perpetually single and stuck in a series of dead-end jobs.

Meanwhile, her friends are getting married, buying their first homes and climbing the corporate ladder, essentially leaving Erica in the dust. It all comes to a head when Erica suffers a series of mishaps that land her in the hospital. There she encounters the mysterious and eccentric Dr. Tom -- a therapist who seems to know a little too much about her life. Even more bizarre, he offers to help fix her current woes -- IF she accepts a challenge.

Desperate for change, Erica provides Dr. Tom with a list of her life's greatest regrets, and unexpectedly finds herself sent back in time to her teenage years. Keeping full possession of her 32-year-old mind, Erica realizes she's been given the opportunity of a lifetime - to make different choices in her past that will ultimately reshape her present. As Erica weaves in and out of the present and past, guided of course by the mysterious Dr. Tom, she gradually realizes that she needs to stop blaming her prior mistakes for her current predicaments and ultimately learn to take control of her destiny.
