EVENTS: Fun stuff! This weekend!
Just a reminder that there are two great events happening this weekend, both on Sunday the 1st of May - the Caxton St Seafood and Wine Festival and the Ministry of Beers Craft Beer Festival at Archive. There's still time to purchase tickets for Caxton St, but the Craft Beer Festival is now sold out. There were only 400 available, and I'm thankful I got mine in time!
And don't forget what is still probably the biggest and most well-known foodie event in Queensland - the Noosa Food and Wine Festival - kicks off in two weeks on the 13th of May. If you're bummed about missing out on tickets to the Craft Beer Festival, Archive still has its regular Beer Academies, usually held on every second Thursday, which I hear are getting very popular. Here's what the Beer Academy has got lined up for the next month or two: May 5 - Hefeweizens. Hosted by Brennan Fielding (Burleigh Master Brewer). $30/head.May 10 - Like A Boss. Hosted by "The Boss" (??!). $120/head (pricey, but the beers and food are killer, and the whole thing ends with a beer matched to a Cuban cigar!).May 19 - Porters. Hosted by the Beer Bureau. $35/head.June 9 - Extra Special Bitters. Hosted by Greg Curran (Sunshine Coast Brewery). $35/head.June 23 - Ladies Only. $35/head. Remember to keep an eye on the Events+Markets page for new listings!
