Exercise Time

By Carrots 'N' Cake (Visit website)

Hooray for FRIDAY!!!  This week was really stressful for me, but I felt like it flew by! I guess I’ll take that! ;-)

I started my Friday off on the right foot today. Before beginning the morning, Mal and I (and Murphy) laid in bed and talked about our plans for the weekend and other fun stuff that is coming up in our lives. It was a really nice way to wake up. :-D Then, I took Murphy for a brisk 20-minute walk around the neighborhood. It felt so good to get outside and get moving. Murph enjoyed himself, too! There were so many sticks to chose from! ;-)

Breakfast

After my walk with Murphy, I made Mal and me some pumpkin-banana oats for breakfast. Mal hates pumpkin (I know, I can’t believe we’re married!), so I snuck a little bit into the batch. He didn’t even notice. ;-)

In the mix:

1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup spelt flakes
1 banana
1/8 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup vanilla hemp milk
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp chia seeds
Raisins
Granola

Makes 2 servings

Midway through eating my bowl, I decided that it needed some peanut butter, so I added a big scoop of Teddie.

I also had a glass of iced coffee with breakfast. I brewed a new flavor last night: Caftea’s Chocolate Truffle. It is DELISH! It makes wonderful iced coffee– no need for sweetener!

Exercise Time

I received this question from a reader the other day, and I thought it’d be a good one to answer on the blog.

How much time do you spend at the gym? I feel like I don’t spend enough time there, but I also don’t know what to do.

Typically, I spent about an hour at the gym. And, I’m all business when I am there! Lately, I’ve been doing Body Pump 2-3 times a week and a couple of cardio sessions. For cardio, I do 30-45 minutes on the treadmill or elliptical, and I really push myself by doing intervals (unless I am vegging out with a magazine).

For some workout ideas, check out my various cardio and strength workouts. You can also see what my weekly workout schedule looks like by viewing my Lose the Dough challenge and my weekly schedule (for past workouts).

Question of the Day

What’s your workout schedule look like? How much time do you spend at the gym/exercising?
