Garden Portraits and 100th Post!
It's my 100th post! I'm not what you'd call a very prolific blogger so it's taken me a while to get here since I began blogging in October of last year!
There's a certain satisfaction that comes with growing vegetables and it's something that is not very easy to do when you're surrounded by huge Sugar Maple trees. Also, the spaces I do have to grow vegetables I would prefer to use to grow flowers. ![]() However, this year, I decided to try growing Sugar Snap Peas on one area of the fence and I picked my first harvest this week. They tasted so good right off the vine it was hard to save enough to bring inside! ![]() I love the fresh flavor of raw peas so I just decided to use them in my salad last night. A little balsamic vinaigrette (Newman's Own Organic) topped off the fresh flavors. Nothing like eating the fruits of your labor to make you smile! ![]() ![]() Here is a collage of some of my clematis that are also making me smile this week. ![]() From top left, going clockwise, you see Maria Cornelia, Hagley Hybrid, Romantica, Blue Light with Piilu in the center. My peas, clematis and I are joining Susan at A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday. Please visit Susan's lovely blog to see the rest of the wonderful outdoor posts! ![]() I hope you will join me and my garden for a party the weekend of July 18-19! Share your gardens, garden-inspired tablescapes or garden-fresh recipes! ![]() Also, please see my sidebar for Kitchen Bouquet's "Ice Cream Social" event on the weekend of July 11-12. It will be delicious! related searches : Garden
