Great Company, Yummy Food!

By Eat, Live, Run (Visit website)

Ryan and I had the laziest afternoon possible.

I changed from my cute purple dress into jeans and one of his HUGE sweatshirts, and we just laid around on the couch and watched golf and read blogs (well I did at least). Around 3:15, I was feeling snacky again (surprise, surprise) so I decided to make a fruit smoothie to refresh me!

I was SO excited to try out the Chia Seeds that Abbie brought me yesterday. Read more about the amazing health benefits of these little critters here. So, I used 1 tbsp of them in this smoothie. Other ingredients included a handful of frozen blueberries, handful of frozen strawberries, 1/2 banana and 1 cup cold water. However, I didn’t really let the smoothie “set” to have the Chia Seeds gelatinize like I was supposed to so I really couldn’t tell a difference with them there. Oh well. My next experiment is to make chia pudding, which I have seen floating around the blogworld, and which looks out of this world! Maybe some time this week….

We ran some errands later….I finally got a refill on my FAVORITE facial sunscreen that I wear daily, rain or shine—

And we ran to Greenwise to grab R some groceries. I snacked on 2 egg whites around 5:30 because I was getting a “lack of protein headache” and needed a fix. I know I hadn’t consumed enough protein during the day and I could totally feel it. I am out of Designer Whey though (which I have relied on HEAVILY—probably too much so) and I ordered some new protein powder online (it will be a SURPRISE!) and it should be here in a few days. I’m so excited to test out this new protein and think I will feel a lot better about relying on it so much when it isn’t whey-derived. Not that whey is bad…but I would like to reduce my dairy intake to see if my skin clears up!

I also did some yoga, which I love to do on my long run days because it works out all my tightness! I did about 15 minutes of a Core Yoga Download and then decided that this was way too strenuous and NOT what my body was craving at the time so I stopped the mp3 and just practiced a little on my own…..some nice pigeon poses, shoulder stand, plow, headstand and child’s pose. Mmmmm

And then Ryan and I headed over to Bonefish and met Abbie for dinner!!

How lucky was I to meet this awesome girl twice in a weekend?! Abbie is awesome and we are so sad that we all don’t live in the same city (or really, the same part of the country!) because we know we would be great friends and her hubby and R would be perfect together :). However she has extended the invite to R and I to come stay with them in Utah and snowboard so I told her we just might show up on their doorstep some time soon……not kidding.

Dinner was too much fun! I ordered a glass of my favorite wine to start (Mirassou Pinot Noir) and we got our favorite “Saucy Shrimp” as an appetizer for us all to split—

I dipped the most amazing bread in the world in the lusciously rich sauce

And then my house salad came out not soon after. I ordered just the standard salad with the dressing on the side

And for my entree, I ordered the appetizer of spicy tuna sashimi. They offer both a full and a half sized portion and this is the half. Last time I ordered the full and it was WAY too much food, even for me!

Major yum there. Ryan ordered the infamous “bang bang shrimp” and I definitely had about five little shrimpies as well…so bad yet so good. ;)

Needless to say, I was stuffed after dinner. But it was so good and so worth the splurge. We all talked non-stop about races, Utah, blogging, FOOD…..everything! It was so much fun :) Thank you, Abbie!

I’m hitting the sack! Up early and spending the day with the fam for Easter….I am making a special dessert that I cannot wait to try out! ;)

See you tomorrow!
