Juicing- Nature's Health Tonic

By Amee's Savory Dish (Visit website)

Juicing is wonderful way to boost your immunity, cleanse your system and feel amazing.  You will have more energy, less cravings and feel satisfied between meals.  I drink a glass of juice in the afternoon between lunch and dinner.  It fills me up until dinner and provides my body with extra vitamins, minerals and enzymes.  Make sure that you juice organic fruits and vegetables.  It is important that your body is getting pure and pesticide-free nutrients.  Below is my favorite juice combination.  The ginger is delicious here, has wonderful health benefits and adds a nice flavor.  For more information on the health benefits of juicing, click here: http://macrobiotics.co.uk/juicing.htm.  Enjoy~

*Helpful tip: after peeling fresh ginger, wrap in plastic wrap and place into a small air-tight freezer container.  Freeze and use when needed.

Favorite Juicing Recipe

1 medium-large organic apple, cored (great source of vitamin A and C)

2 medium organic carrots (good source of vitamins such as B, C, D, E, and K, and minerals like calcium, phosphorous, potassium, sodium, and traces of protein. Juicing your carrots will help to promote healthier hair, skin, and nails.)

2-3 large kale leaves (great source of Calcium, Iron, Chlorophyll and Vitamin A)

1 tsp size piece of fresh ginger, peeled (contains essential oils, protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin C, choline, folic acid, inositol, manganese, panthotenic acid, silicon, and a small amount of vitamin B3.)

Wash all produce and set aside.  Peel ginger and cut off about a tsp size piece.   Place into the chute of a juicer and process.

Pour a glass and enjoy.
