Limoncello meets Campari in this Roman Inspired Martini
Download the full sized 5x3 recipe card in print quality hereWORLD MARTINI TOUR - DAY ONE, ROME Italy has almost as many famous liquors as it has famous sexy cars. Among them are Lemoncello a distinctive lemon liqueur, and Campari, an infusion of bitter herbs, aromatic plants, and fruit. This Roman inspired martini uses both these Itailian liqueurs for a truly good martini that makes you understand the term ?La Dolce Vita? which literally translates to ?The Sweet Life? The fresh orange juice and Limoncello are a nice balance to the bitterness of the Campari and the combination of ingredients gives you a lovely martini just about the shade of a Roman sunset viewed through the ruins of the Colosseum from the Gladiatori Hotel Palazzo Manfredi. A couple of these and you can almost imagine the roar from the Colosseum crowd two thousand years in the past. Would they give this martini a thumbs up or a thumbs down?
