Marble Cupcakes 4th of July Style!

I couldn’t decide between chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, so I decided to make both. I used my favorite vanilla cupcake recipe and added 1 oz. cooled, melted dark chocolate to one half of the batter. Then I swirled them and baked at 350 for 15-20 mins. Frost with favorite butter cream and enjoy!

To swirl:

Preheat oven to 350. Line cupcake liners (12). Make vanilla batter. Put half in a separate bowl and mix in melted chocolate.

Add a tbsp of vanilla to cupcake liners. Then chocolate batter. Keep alternating until the liner is 2/3-3/4 full. Fill rest of liners the same way. With a paring knife, swirl tops of each cupcake to mix batters together slightly. Bake 15-20 mins until toothpick comes out clean.




Make butter cream while cupcakes cool.

Separate butter cream into 3 bowls. Dye one blue and one red. Leave one white. Using 233 tip frost blue layer, then white, and finally red with butter cream! (I followed this fantastic design from Wilton!)
