OFF THE RECORD:
![]() I never thought I would clip coupons. My how times have changed! The other day when the mail arrived I actually read "The Pennysaver". Usually this gets tossed in the trash every week without even a glance! The good news is that upon reading "The Pennysaver" I discovered that Waffle Square Restaurant had a full page ad along with several coupons. One of them offered ham & eggs for just $2.99. Score! With the coupon in hand I drove to Waffle Square and enjoyed ham & eggs, home style potatoes & toast. I was charged $1.69 for my cup of coffee, but I did have a couple of cups. All toll, the final cost was like $5.09. It was a good breakfast for a good price. Look for the ad in this weeks Pennysaver! Additionally, I did grab something to eat at a couple of other places during the week. I got a Hot Pastrami to go at Sam's Hof Brau located at Watt & El Camino Ave. The Pastrami was good, but unfortunately the sandwich was basically a lot of bread. The cost was $4.88. I did the "Jack in the Box" thing and ordered the $3.99 special which consisted of a Jumbo Jack, Fries, two tacos & a drink. This fed two people and was a good deal.
