Old Soul

By Eat, Live, Run (Visit website)

It’s CHILLY!! But before I get into all that drama, let’s recap the day.

I poured a TON of wine at work today!!! It was the first icky day that I’ve seen since living in California and I was surprised at how busy we were. Tons of tastings and chilly hikes up the hills in dry creek valley. I’m finding out the secret is wearing layers...and boots.

My lunch was a bit random since I don’t have much to pack from my little kitchen. I brought a chicken sausage and cheese sandwich, bell pepper slices and an apple:

It worked.

A bar later in the afternoon:

I was soooo thankful to get out of there at 5:00 so I could get home and change into comfy jeans and fleece. We have a huge front moving in tomorrow (a typhoon from Japan??!? where am I??) and the temperature is dropping. Unfortunately my heat is broken so I’m bundling up with many a fleece layer. The electrician is coming tomorrow. A bunch of y’all have asked why I have to move and I really can’t get into details because it’s personal business of my landlord…everything is fine though and I’m sure it will all work out. I’m just anxious to get settled.

I was thrilled to eat hot leftover soup and grilled cheese for dinner!

And then walked to the bookstore, which is only about two blocks away. I bought the new Anita Shreve book and can’t wait to get all warm under the covers tonight and dive in; she’s one of my very favorite authors! A new book just seemed to go with the “storm coming, heater broken, no tv and barely wireless internet” theme I seem to be living. It’s all good. ;)

Dessert was about a cup of yogurt with chocolate chips, honey and a bit of granola-

And I’m currently sipping on vanilla rooibos tea and wearing three sweaters. I’m 93. It’s fine.

Tomorrow’s plans include finding a warm spot with ample internet so I can completely and totally catch up on my emails, freelance assignments and blog comments. I also WILL find a yoga studio and re-stock at Trader Joe’s.

G’nite!
