Pita bread and Fresh Salsa

Pita Bread rolled with Murg malai kabab and Salsa
Pita Bread is a middle eastern staple food..This is a basic bread for all kinds of dishes like Hummus Roll,Chicken Shawarma,Pita Crisp and so on...This recipe is for one of my friend called gibsy,she has been asking this recipe for a while..So gibsy make this and tell me how it came..Usually pita bread is made in a super hot oven,but it takes so long time to cook..So I use a normal tawa to cook this.If you want to try this in oven check this link.The important thing here is make sure that your tawa is extremely hot when you put your pita bread in it and also make the pita bread a little smaller and round so that it will puff up.I served this bread with Murg malai kabab(check recipe here) stuffed in it..you could use anything like sauted vegetables, baba ganoush or hummus. you can even put a couple of my vegetable cutlet inside the pocket and have it,any way it is yummy...So hope you give this a try and tell me know how it came..

Ingrediants:

Flour(Maida)-3 cups
Salt to taste
Sugar-2 tsp
Oil-2 tblspn
Yeast-2 tblspn
Warm Water as required

Method:

In a bowl add yeast,sugar and warm water,mix everything together.let it sit for 5-10 min until it is frothy.(make sure that the water is not so hot,it should luke warm)

In a mixing bowl add flour,salt and mix well.Pour this yeast mixture in this and form a soft dough.

Drizzle oil over the dough, cover it with a damp cloth and let it sit for 30 min.

After 30 min the dough must have doubled in size.Punch the dough down,empty the dough from its bowl and knead it for 5 min.

While kneading the dough will become soft and springy...Then divide the dough in to equal portion and spread it like a small chapati.

Put this in a very hot tawa and cook less than 30 sec on both sides,by which time the pita bread will have puffed up and it gets a little brown spots here and there.
If you cut this pita bread you will have a nice pocket in there where you can stuff anything and enjoy.

Salsa recipe:

Ingrediants:

Onion-1/2 chopped roughly
Tomato-3 chopped
Coriander leaves-1 handful
Garlic-2
Olive oil-2 tblspn
Lemon juice-2 tblspn
Salt to taste

Method:

In a food processor add everything except oil and lemon juice.process for a few times until everything is crushed.

Tip this in a bowl.Add lemon juice, oil in it and mix well.

How to Serve:

Take the Pita bread and apply a little Butter or Mayo in it..If you don?t have anything you can skip this.

Then place the roughly chopped murg malai kabab(for recipe check this)...Then add a good amount of salsa on top..Roll it and Dig in.

add oil,lemon juice and ready to eat..

Serving Suggestion:
apply mayo or butter(this is optional)
add chopped chicken..
and some salsa..
roll up..
