Slimmed Down Sammie

By Gratifyin' Grubbin' (Visit website)

At the Hub on the SUNY Purchase campus, the sandwiches station is typically the most popular place to grab some food, creating long lines. Especially during rush times, don?t be surprised if you have to wait awhile. There are usually only two or three people working, which holds up the line.

Anyone who loves a sandwich knows it is all about the bread. Try out the whole grain roll or a wheat wrap. Both are smaller options, leaving less room for unhealthy carbs. Wraps in general are most likely the better direction to go, and aren?t too bad in the taste department either.

If you are a meat eater go for turkey or grilled chicken. The rest of the meat options are fatty, like salami or pepperoni, or breaded. For vegetarians, they do now offer a Tofu sandwich option.

Word of warning...even though the sandwiches typically taste good, there are times where they fall a bit short. It is all about who is working the shift you are there for. Some people are new and don?t know the correct way to throw the wraps together, i.e. cutting up the chicken and all that goes into your wrap. Others are just not very pleasant people and tend to throw whatever they think you said on whatever they want and give it to you. Don?t worry there are some rays of sunshine behind the sandwich counter who will gladly create a lovely bit of mealtime grub for your enjoyment.

In terms of recommending a combination for a wrap, today I tried out a grilled chicken with melted swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, roasted red pepper and honey mustard on a wheat wrap?very yummy indeed!

*Notes - My apologies for the large gap of time between posts, things got crazy with school. Thank you for those who encouraged me to keep writing!*
