Soccer snackin?

By Emily Eats Clean (Visit website)

Hope everyone had a fun and happy Saturday!  I attempted blogging earlier this afternoon and apparently my little mini laptop has been infected with a virus!!  Eek!  Therefore, I have hijacked the hubby’s laptop for some late night blogging.  Since my computer knowledge is lacking, I’m taking my computer to my dad with high hopes of him (or the computer geek at his work) to be able to fix it.

Let’s start out by singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my kitties!!!!

My little babies are 2 years old today!  I went through some old pics today of them……look how little they were:

Sissy is the little white poof ball and Rocky is the little black one towards the back of the sofa.  The little calico looking one is now Kim’s kitty and her name is Sammy.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sammy!!  Sissy, Rocky, and Sammy were a litter of 5 kittens.  There momma was a stray that my roommate and I found (pre-marriage days).  Less than a week later, on May 1st, Momma cat gave birth to 5 kittens in our bathroom……16 days later Russell and I got married, went on our honeymoon, and came home to a house full of “kids.”   :)

Sadly, I can hardly remember them this little.  Thank goodness for pictures!!  Aren’t they cute??   We bought them a pack of new kitty toys today for their birthday.  :)

On to the food:

Breakfast:

Breakfast consisted of a bowl of cereal (1 cup cereal with about 2/4 cup skim milk), cut up kiwi, and french press coffee with 1 truvia packet and frothed skim milk.

Is has been soooo long since I’ve just had a good ol’ bowl of cereal for breakfast.  This Cascadian Farm Raisin Bran cereal is clean eating approved and was just in the Clean Eating magazine!

Following breakfast, Russell and I got ready for the gym.  Before hitting up the gym, I enthusiastically headed out the door for the 1st day of the local farmers market!!!!!

I love all the tents full of goodies:  homemade breads, homemade desserts, fruits, veggies, plants, and crafts.  I also really enjoy people watching and seeing everyone out with their families and pets.

I somehow managed to leave the farmer’s market with only strawberries.  But boy-oh-boy did they smell and look delicious!

I can’t wait to eat some of these for breakfast in the morning!

Following the farmer’s market I hit up the gym.  I did 15 minutes on the stationary bike to warm-up.  I then stretched the ol’ IT bands and headed outside for a 3.5 mile run.  The heat and humidity were ridiculous today….I about died!!!  I made it a little over 3 miles and then had to walk.  I decided not too long after I had started my run that I shouldn’t have left my water bottle at the gym!  That last 1/2 mile, I did walking lunges and run/walk sprints.  When I got back to the gym, I stretched again and then ended my workout with some core work, push-ups and deadlifts.  Whew I was pooped after all that.

When I got back home, my belly was begging to be fed!  Insert Panera, round 2, from yesterday.

Lunch:

I reheated the veggie soup and the whole grain baguette.  I also bulked up the salad a bit with some additional spring mix.  Twas delicious!

At this point in my life, I attempted blogging and trying to figure out spyware…..failure.  Darn!

Snack:

So after reviewing my pics for the day, I was quite a bit “snacky” this afternoon:

I’m still loving these bars!

And an hour or so later I enjoyed some almonds and dates while on the way to babysit

Babysitting began at the soccer fields, today.  I helped Connor with some Chex-Mix and enjoyed a blow-pop with Grant

Do you see where it says “Artificially Flavored??”  Umm yea that means NOT clean eating.  Chex Mix either.

Fun soccer photos from the day:

Grant really is enjoying this torture from Russell…..I promise!  :)

My sister even came out to watch some of the boys’ soccer games.

Following the boys’ games we headed off with them to eat dinner

And like always, my Which Wich sandwich was delicious!

And we were all in agreement that this sunny day just couldn’t ead without a yummy, cold treat

Rita’s Ice was just what we needed!  I got a kids fat-free custard

Seriously, I could eat a bathtub full of this stuff!  It’s sooooooooooooo good!

I can’t believe that Saturday is already over!  As always, it went by waaaay too quick.  :(   However, it was a great day!  Don’t forget that you still have a little bit of time to enter for your chance to win a box of truvia!!!

Night ya’ll!!!
