Soccer Taco

By Emily Eats Clean (Visit website)

Hope everyone had a good Good Friday!  It was super nice having a day off work!  While lots of shopping did take place, a lot of purchasing didn’t occur.  :(   Why does that always happen?  When you go shopping with intentions of spending, it doesn’t happen, but when you go just to browse and are flat broke you find 1000 things you want!  Anybody else out there have that same problem?

So Russell and I went to look at one house Friday morning.  I wanted to sleep in so badly yesterday morning, but since I couldn’t, I slept as late as possible and was then struggling to make it out the door in some sort of timely fashion.  I munched on a Vitatop while we were on the way to house hunt.

After checking out the house, Russell swung me by Starbucks for a tall cup of Komodo Dragon bold coffee with 1 packet of Sugar in the Raw and steamed skim milk.  He’s so good!  :)

When we made it back home, I was ready for my real breakfast.

I toasted up 2 waffles, topped them with natural almond butter and fruit spread for a waffle PB&J.  :)   I’m kicking it old school here lately with some major PB&J!!!  Also had a plum on the side.

Next, I headed off to meet my sister for a day of out-of-town shopping!  Whooo hoo!  And of course I brought snacks along for the ride.  Erin and I munched on some Newman’s Own Organic Mighty mini pretzels.

After about an 1.5 hour drive and a little bit of shopping I was hungry….imagine that!  At this point my sister asked me….”Are you just a bottomless pit?”  Haha……yes, pretty much!  :)   Since we were in a mall, we headed into the food court to see what we could find.

I headed straight to the Frullate Cafe.  I decided that the Fruit Chillers looked appealing.

Frullate’s fruit chillers are made with real fruit, juice, and ice.  I even asked about the fruit juice and if it was sweetened juice….I was told it was real fruit juice with no added sweeteners, so this made me happy!  :)   I ended up ordering a regular strawberry banana with protein supplement added.

Yum, yum, yum, yum, and YUM! Just looked up the calories of this baby….they don’t have the strawberry banana combo listed on the nutritional sheet.  But every other flavor combo in the 12 ounce with the protein added is under 150 calories! YAY!!!

After some unproductive shopping….boo….Erin and I left the mall to see what other places we could find to try to spend some money at.

Oh come people!  You know if I’m out-of-town, some grocery store has to be visited!  :)   Ended up getting a basket full of yummy goodness.

I got some yummy treats, got a few for friends, and Erin got some yumminess too (see that to die for piece of chocolate cake?!?!)  Also buried in that basket was my real lunch….late lunch, I guess.

From the deli counter at Fresh Market, I got a combo including salmon, cucumber salad with dill, and pasta mozzarella salad….Mmmmmm!  This made for a delicious lunch, even if I did eat it in the car.

AND washed that lunch down with a little skim milk……

And maybe that huge piece of carrot cake seen in the background.  And no I didn’t eat the whole piece!

Ahhhhhh!  Ok so Erin and I ended up each buying a few things, but still not what we were hopping for.  Oh well, we tried to do our part to boost the economy!

Before heading home, Erin and I met up with one of her good highschool buddies, Josh,  for dinner.  One of the local, favorite guys-in-law school hangout is ….

Seriously?!?!  :)   I gave Josh such a hard time about Soccer Taco!!!  While it ended up being great Mexican Food, I was hoping to hit up some really cool hotspot in this college town to do a fun food review on.  Haha oh well.  We all still had a great dinner and enjoyed catching up.

Neither Erin or I were very hungry so we decided to split chicken fajitas.

I really wasn’t hungry so I only had 3 chips with salsa and 1 fajita

One thing that I did really like about Soccer Taco was that there fajitas had mushrooms in them….yum!

Here’s Josh,  making his blog debut and representing the bloggy too!  Hi Josh!!!!  Are you reading?!?!?  :)

AND lastly, Erin and I hit up Starbucks to keep us awake for the drive home.

Also enjoyed a few dried kiwi on the drive home.

What a fun Good Friday!!!!   Now enjoy some sunshine on this beautiful Saturday!  :)
