SUPER Easy St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake Recipe
I have a much longer version of this recipe that requires way more work than I was willing to put into a cake last night after supper. A supper I didn’t have to cook. But being under the weather I was looking for something quick, easy and yummy. This was all three of those things! The hardest part is waiting until it is cool enough to eat.
I know it may not look like much. But trust me. It is to die for! Rich, gooey (as the recipe indicates), buttery (again…good call!) and easy peasy! I usually have a cake mix or two on hand for a bundt cake recipe we LOVE that is sooo easy. And honestly, I don’t know where I saw this recipe or what made me think of it last night. Maybe the fever talking?? Whatever the reason, I am so glad I did. And after I went and crawled back in the bed after supper, Hannah came to my door and said “Mommy??? You awake? THANK YOU for making this cake…nom nom nom!” So here you go. Give it a stir! BOTTOM CRUST: GOOEY TOPPING: 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened Mix together cake mix (just the mix, not the other ingredients called for on the box) with butter and 1 egg. Pat into an ungreased 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Cream together cream cheese, 2 eggs, powdered sugar and vanilla. Pour over bottom crust. Spreading to the edges. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. related searches : Super
