A brand-new discovery you are going to really love. I just found a wonderful company by the name of The Pretty Peacock.

The Pretty Peacock is the brainchild of Ana Talukder Simpson. Her sweetheart in college wrote her a book of poems and longed for a piece of jewelry in which she could incorporate his words to forever immortalize them. Something she could carry with her, something tangible as a memory of that time in their lives.

Each and every piece of Pretty Peacock Jewelry incorporates a small saying that you can carry with you. Something to make you think about your surroundings and your very being.

Each Pretty Peacock piece of jewelry is handcrafted with care, pride and lots of good Juju.

They use high quality Sterling Silver and Fine Grade Silver as well as Copper, Gold Fill, Vermeil,Oxidized (Gray/Black Antiqued) Silver Pieces, Pearls and Other Semi-Precious Stones as well as Swarovski Crystals and Gemstones.

Most people already are familiar with Sterling Silver which is 92.5% pure silver. Fine Grade Silver is 99.9% pure and Pretty Peacock has a great explanation of what exactly it is:

Fine Silver

One of The Pretty Peacock’s favourite materials to work with, fine silver is ECO-FRIENDLY, high-grade silver. Fine silver is actually ‘reclaimed’ silver from the tech industry. The whole idea of ‘reclaimed’ silver should not make you worry about the quality or integrity of this incredible material. Fine silver actually starts in clay form. Millions of the ‘reclaimed’ silver particles are suspended in an organic binder and when heated at high temperatures, the organic binders burn away and all that is left is 99.9% pure silver as opposed to sterling silver’s 92.5%.

 Mining is not required to procure fine silver, therefore no negative impact is done to our environment.

The Pretty Peacock offers tons of different and unique designs-everything from bracelets, pendants and rings. They even offer items for men and custom work.

You are going to just love Ana?s creative talent. In her Seattle Studio she creates unique East Indian flavoured jewelry designs that pay homage to her culture.

Each piece is inspired by Mehndi/henna patterns and is present on at least one side of the piece.

The patterns are not merely etched on top but they are actually part of the silver.

Ana (owner/designer) has just released the Dream Woven Sculpture Pendant. I was very fortunate to receive this brand new design to review.

When it came in the mail the other day, I was so very excited to open the package. Tied up in a pretty brown bow and carefully wrapped in tissue, the box awaited. I couldn?t believe my eyes when I opened the box. This is truly a beautiful piece. I have never seen anything like it before. Here have a look for yourself

 The silver is so bright and perfectly finished. It just shines in the light. The chain has so much sparkle. “I just love glitter things” The pendant itself is wonderful! Carefully twisted into a spiral design and all encrusted with the most amazing design. It looks like something you want to ask about. It is curious and different. It almost looks like it is inscribed with some hidden symbols. The pattern is enhanced by a very soft frosted effect which only shows the pattern more. The chain is great because it is totally adjustable. You can clasp the lobster style clap on any one of many loops to wear it at different lengths. I love this feature, because you can wear it with all different necklines. It wasn?t until the following day after I received my pendant that I notice there was writing inside the swirl of fine silver.

Through closer observation I discovered that inside the pendant it actually said; “Live Ever in A New Day” Oh my goodness! This piece of jewelry just became something so much more to me. As I wore the pendant to work today, all I could think about is “LIVE EVER IN A NEW DAY” It was totally inspiring! It gave me hope-it made me smile.

Not only does The Pretty Peacock make incredible, handcrafted, quality jewelry they make it mean something. This is one of my new favourite pieces of jewellery and it is not only fashion forward but it is inspiring while you wear it. A little reminder-that makes you think!!
