Tomato Nuvvula Pachadi (Tomato Sesame Seeds Chutney)
Tomato chutney comes handy whenever you want to prepare something in jiffy. You can serve this chutney as an accompaniment to dosa, idli, upma, oothappam and the list is endless. It tastes excellent with rice too. Tomato's sourness combined with sesame seeds flavor satisfies your taste buds, trust me.
Ingredients: 3 tomatoes, medium sized, chop fine 6-7 small Thai chillies 1/4 cup sesame seeds 1/8 cup peanuts (optional) 2 tbsp tamarind pulp (extract) 1/2 tsp jeera 1 tbsp dhaniya (coriander seeds) 1 tsp oil salt to taste For tadka/popu: 1 tsp oil 1/2 tsp mustard seed 1/2 tsp jeera pinch of haldi few curry leaves Preparation: In a skillet, dry roast sesame seeds, peanuts, dhaniya and jeera one after the other. In a kadai, heat oil. Add chopped tomato and cook until everything becomes mushy. Cool everything. Put everything in a blender or mixie, add tamarind pulp and salt. Grind to a fine paste. For tadka, heat oil in a skillet, do the popu in the given order, immediately add to the ground mixture. Serve warm with rice/dosa/idly. related searches : Tomato
