Vegan Dish--Steelite is My New Favorite Option for "Tabletop Style"

By The Blooming Platter of Vegan Recipes (Visit website)

Happy New Year, everyone!

I wanted to share my favorite culinary discovery for 2011 so far...

Twice over the winter holiday, I was in posh/hip lounge-restaurants--one in Washington, D.C., and one in Norfolk, VA--where I admired the china, turned it over, and saw that is was a Steelite International product.

Pure white china in sleek contemporary profiles with classic undertones absolutely sends me over the moon. So, once home, I visited the company's website where the options made my mouth water. But, unfortunately, the corporate site only sells to the food service industry.

Not to worry! I emailed the company through "Contact Us" on the website praising their products and inquiring about whether I could purchase from them. I received a reply almost immediately from none other than the general manager--talk about customer service! De-"lite"-ful in his delivery, he shared the good news that Steelite had recently set up a website called Tabletop Style through which they can sell to individuals. In fact, he had already set me up with an introductory discount code.

When someone goes to such lengths to provide "top" notch service, I certainly want to return the favor. But I was so afraid that the prices would be out of my range, as the merchandise is that attractive. But I shouldn't have been concerned. It is very affordable even without a discount and it is a pleasure to browse on the site.

I purchased one of the large "Float" bowls like the one in the photograph to use for serving (though I covet a set for dining) and 8 of their 5-inch "Sheer" soup/salad/dessert bowls.

If you visit the site soon, and I urge you to (I'm not receiving any kick-backs!), it may say "Under Construction." But, never fear, all of the items that have been added so far--and there are many--can be purchased. I think you will find that there is something for virtually every taste, so enjoy perusing the many collections of dinnerware, stemware, flatware and more, including some options in color if that's more to your liking.

Vegan food never looked so good!
