Vegan Sausage Rollups Bento
I know that I’ve been seriously neglecting my daily posting of bento photos. And there’s a “stack” of them just waiting for me. Like a lot of you I’ve been busy with household chores and my recent obsession with outdoor repairs and yardwork. Last week, I totally trashed my leg when it went through a rotten board on my deck! Saba Man inspected the wounds and declared, “you don’t need stitches”, much to my surprise and pain. After I wiped my tears (I am a wimp) we faced our dilemma: Do we hire someone to remove and rebuild the entire deck? $$$ Do we hire someone to replace just the rotten boards? $$ Do we do replace just the rotten boards ourselves? $ The final option appeared the most logical, however it ended up as $$ because we had to buy the tools along with the replacement boards. But it was worth it as an educational exercise, Saba Man and I partnered on this project (quality time), we now have a safe deck for the summer and we have shiny new tools! I’ll post before and after photos as soon as I finish the final paint coat! So after sharing that episode, here’s a quickie bento post. It’s a vegetarian bento packed with vegan sausage rolls, veggie burgers, cheese, cukes, tomatoes, broccoli, strawberries and purple rice musubi. If you take a close look to the left of the musubi? can you see the condensation on the inside of the box? This is an example of why you must let foods cool before closing the lid. That moisture, if locked inside a warm box is a “spa” for micro-organisms! The musubi is also very misshapen because it was “too hot to handle”?another lesson for those who form rice balls by hand! But anyways, I’ll try and publish more bento photos soon. Here’s hoping that we get a series of sunny days so I can finish my projects and get back my “normal” bento schedule! Happy summer! related searches : Vegan
