So rich, so creamy, and so simple: grandma’s dessert secret is finally out (and it’s only 4 ingredients)

Some recipes cross generations because they carry more than flavor: they bring warmth, affection and that feeling of being in grandma's kitchen. This creamy dessert is just like that: with just 4 ingredients, it proves that simplicity can be the greatest secret to winning over everyone at the table. Easy to prepare and impossible to resist, it's proof that when tradition meets affection, every spoonful becomes an emotional memory.

Here's our full recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups/50 cl milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup/100 gr sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Materials:

  • Baking dish
  • Ramekins
  • Whisk

Preparation:

  1. Put the milk in a saucepan and heat it until it boils. Turn off the heat as soon as it boils and leave to cool for a few minutes.
  2. Put the eggs, sugar and vanilla in a bowl. Mix well.
  3. Add the milk and mix well to obtain a homogeneous texture.
  4. Pour the mixture into ramekins up to 0.3 inch/1cm from the edge. Place the ramekins in a shallow baking dish and pour water halfway up the ramekins without splashing.
  5. Place in a preheated oven at 350°F/180°C and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until the center is wobbly.
  6. Remove the ramekins, leave to cool for 10 minutes and then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy.

Tips:

  • The vanilla extract can be replaced with almond extract, orange blossom extract or even citrus zest to vary the flavors.
  • This cream keeps very well in the fridge for 2 to 3 days, so it can be made in advance for a quick dessert.
