Potato Podimas/Urulai Kizhalangu Podimas

Boil the potatoes,peel the skin and lighlty mash them and keep aside.Heat oil in a kadai,add mustard seeds and fennel seeds when it pop add channa dal , fry till golden brown.Add chopped onions,curry leaves,garlic and fry them well.Saute till onion gets transparent.Then add the mashed potatoes stir well.Add chilli powder,curry powder and enough salt,mix well and keep frying for few minutes.Saute well so that all the masala powders get nicely coated on potatoes well.Lastly add some chopped coriander leaves stir well and turn off the stove.Potato podimas is now ready to serve hot.Its a nice side dish for sambar sadham,rasam sadham,curd rice and other variety rice.It goes well with dosa,chapathi and puri also.
