11th Mediterranean Cooking Event ? Egypt
We are back to the Arabic world and the coast of north Africa.Egypt is our destination, a country with a very long history of cooking. Recipes were found here dating back 5000 years. Amongst then the oldest recipe for Mayonnaise which consists of olive oil and egg yolk. Also brewing beer has a very long tradition here. Dates, figs, grapes, quince but aslo cucumber is used a lot in the Egyptian cuisine. You can also find a lot of lamb. I am curious what you will find! The 11th Mediterranean Cooking Event has started and the topic is: Egypt Start date is the 10th of August 2010. The winner receives this great cookbook on Slovenian cooking: “My Egyptian Grandmother’s Mother Kitchen” These are the RULES: Who can participate? What do I have to do to participate? 1. Cook a dish from the actual country of focus. How is the winner chosen? After the event has finished I will put up a poll on the blog that includes all participants. You will have 2 weeks time to vote for your favourite dish. Can I participate with more than 1 recipe? Yes, you can. All recipes participate the poll.
