Man has walked the moon, some have conquered the highest peaks and few have even achieved the impossible dream. These are the tales of those who dared to go, where no one has gone before to bring to the London republic, exceptional bangers.

This successful sausage franchise is now in five locations across the city, and basically, they are into great bangers. Aside from that cart which serves amazing Frikadellens and that giant paella stall; bangers is my next favourite spot to hit on the odd day when I happen to be buying Italian grapes at the weekend market in Notting Hill, sans Hugh Grant floppy hair and Raybans.

I am no connoisseur of intestine wrapped minced things, however the immediately eye catching selection which Bangers Bros offers looks like they could become something of an institution. All beautifully branded with their own ?coat of arms?, the menu offers up mince of many varieties which even includes a meat-free option.

On this occasion, I tried ?The Hotdog? which is a 100% beef banger, served in a soft bun with crispy fried shallots (shallots). Talk about passion, the Bros are seriously serious about their mince and their website offers rich descriptions of their range of sausages. Take my beefbanger a.k.a. ?The Frankfurter? for example, and I quote:

?Do not expect the rubbish that you get in cinemas. This hotdog is produced from the very best lean beef without any types of meat and binding agents. The fresh meat is filled into delicate casings then smoked in pairs over natural beech wood fires according to a 150 year old traditional recipe.?

My tastebuds did think it was delicious, albeit a little sharp and salty, those crispy shallots are yummy though, and the deliciously nutty chips are just great.

We also managed the No.8, which is the poultry mince made with tarragon, parsley, thyme, onion & garlic served with Cos lettuce and Lemon Mayo. This one took a little getting used to as the mince came out looking pink and while the spice & herbs were appetising, it was unnerving thinking that I may be munching on raw chicken. We did quiz the staff and they assured us that their swish sausage cooking setup coupled with their astute QC, triple cooks the meat to death so we needn?t worry about tummy aches. She did put our minds to ease, indeed I came away without incident.

By far the best bit of the visit was the funky Mongolian R&B music playing in the background which alternated tracks from J-Lo and Shakira - That’s what happens when a Latino mamasita operates the till and a music loving Mongolian mans the grill.

More mustard please.
