Chocolate

By A Healthy Passion (Visit website)

Good Morning :)

Hope your Friday is off to a great start!

Unfortunately day 2 of my workout commitment has failed miserably. Classes @ the gym were cancelled this morning due to the terrible snowstorm we got last night(2 maybe 3 inches of snow)  haha. Sooo that means I have a date with Jillian later today to get me sweating.  But for now i’m laying in bed, reading food blogs, drinking a green smoothie, and eating a pecan praline Nourish bar. If thats not a perfect way to spend the morning i’m not sure what is.

In this one: 5 stalks kale, 1 C almond milk, 1 tbsp chia, 1 tsp psyllium, 1/2 scoop protein, 1/2 c blueberries, 1/2 banana, 3 ice cubes.

I love starting my day off green :)

And my nourish bar- all I can say is yum, i’m addicted to these babies!

Now enough of what I am really  having for breakfast and on to what I wish I was having, dark chocolate ice cream!

I have gotten several requests for a chocolate version of my soft serve so here it is, and I think this might be the best one yet!

Chocolate Banana Soft Serve

Ingredients:

2 medium bananas frozen

1 tbsp dark cocoa powder

1/2 tbsp coconut oil

2 tbsp almond milk

1/2 tbsp maple syrup

1 tsp cacao nibs

Directions: Pile your ingredients, except the nibs in to your blender and blend until smooth, adding more almond milk as needed! Garnish with cacao nibs and devour! Serves 2

Gather up the ingredients

plop them into your vita-mix and blend away!

Pour into a pretty glass and garnish with the cacao nibs.

Admire your efforts and then savor each silky smooth, chocolatey bite

until your boyfriend steals it from you and demolishes your delicious dessert in seconds.

Oh well at least it was simple and I have an excuse to make some for lunch ;)

If that dish didn’t give you the chocolate fix you were searching for hopefully this one will.

Dark Chocolate Pecan Butter

Ingredients:

1 C pecans, raw

2 oz dark chocolate, chopped

1 tsp coconut oil

1/4 tsp salt

Directions: Place pecans in a food processor and process 5-8 minutes or until they start to resemble a nut butter. In the meantime melt chocolate and coconut in a small bowl over a double boiler. Drizzle chocolate mixture into processor while its running and process a few more minutes until silky. Add salt and taste!

Nuts in the processor

about five minutes in the mixture will look like this. Start melting your chocolate and drizzle in melty mixture. Process another 2-3 minutes

your final product will look like this.

Silky, creamy, rich and chocolatey. It is incredible right off the spoon I cant wait to try it in some oats or on toast. Mmm. Just make sure to store in the refrigerator to make it last longer, although its highly unlikely this butter will make it through the night.

Alright, time to get my butt moving today I need to order labels for my bars and work on a paper due Monday.

But first,

I have a melting bowl of soft serve calling my name, don’t judge me. Technically it is noon!

Have a fabulous Friday.
