Ingredients:
4 firm Granny apples - peeled, cored and cut each apple into 8 pieces.
3 tbsp caster sugar
Oil for frying
For the batter
1 cup cake flour
1/2 cup cold water
1 egg - lightly beaten
A pinch of salt

Preparation:
Sift flour into a mixing bowl.
Slowly add the cold water and stir to make a smooth batter.
Add the beaten egg and blend well.
Heat oil and dip the apple pieces.
Deep fry in the heated oil until golden.
Remove and drain.
Dust caster sugar on top and serve warm.
