Gnu Bar Winner

By Pickley Pear (Visit website)

Happy Sunday!  And more importantly, Happy Mother?s Day (again!!) to all of the wonderful mother?s in the world.

Without further ado, the winner of the Gnu Bar Giveaway (and a few other fun goodies) is?drumroll please?

Lucky #13: Lisa Eirene Congratulations Lisa!!!

Lisa is a new reader of Pickley Pear and has an extremely inspirational story to share.  Check her out at 110 Pounds and Counting.  Please send me your address and I?ll get the package out to you ASAP!  Thanks for reading and entering!!  I can?t wait to hear how you like the Gnu Bars!

My Sunday started out with a 3 mile OUTDOOR run (plus 1 mile for warm up and cool down walk).  Day 1 of 10K Training. Check.  After that I did about 30 minutes of abs, runner?s yoga and stretching.

The weather finally looks like Spring ? chilly and sunny.  It was about 40 degrees this morning ? not too cool for a run in the sun first thing on a Sunday.  Plus, we?ve had bad storms; wind and rain for the past few days so I had to take advantage of the sunshine.

And that would be a mimosa!!  I had a fantastic Mother?s Day brunch with my mom (and dad).  My dad surprises us with the location, just like for Easter.  I literally had no idea today, it was a great surprise!  We love trying new places?and guaranteed to be back to this one.

Big Rock Chophouse, located in Birmingham, Michigan.  We found out as we drove in, for special occasions and brunches, they use the adjacent building, a banquet center called The Reserve.  I chose to keep the camera hidden (except for the quick snap of the mimosa), and just enjoyed the abundant variety of food and beautiful display of it.  The spread was perfect ? not too much, not too little, and it covered any palate imaginable.  They even had egg whites for the omelets ? that made me happy.  Also, turkey sausage and steamed veggies as healthier options, among others.

The star of the show was, for sure, the dessert table.  You name it, they had it.  I took a chocolate covered strawberry, dark chocolate covered nut cluster and a (not small) piece of Coconut Cream Cake.  Good thing I ran this morning.smile_whatchutalkingabout

I am happy with myself though for watching my portions and only taking food that I knew was healthy and would make me feel good about eating ? oh and food I love too!  I was not overly stuffed after my meal, yet completely satisfied, and it?s now 5.5 hours later and I am not the least bit hungry.

Do you ever find on days where you work out harder than normal, you don?t have much of an appetite?

I?m thinking that since I haven?t run outside in over a month, that is the culprit.  Fine by me!  I am going to make something small for dinner though.  Gotta keep that metabolism in check ? now that I think I finally have it under control!

Have a great evening ? I hope you all had as great of a Mother?s Day Sunday as I did!rose
