Matcha Madness! - A Parade of Great Matcha Recipes

By I Just Love My Apron (Visit website)

The green goodness of matcha tea is magic. Its taste is exotic and it has a depth of flavor. It's versatile. It has a high antioxidant count and helps burn bad fat. I already said this but I'm going to say it again. I'm in love with it. Period. Not sure if it's because of the green magic that when it touches everything, it makes that piece beautiful, or something else. The sad part is that I haven't played around with it as much I'd like. I think to myself "okay I'm going to try this and that", but it never happens. I'm a procrastinating queen and last minute kinda girl.

While gathering my favorite matcha recipes, I've seen even more of its beauty. I'm amazed by how versatile it is and how creative fellow bloggers are with it. You guys rock! I'm proud to present my favorite matcha recipes below:

Drum roll....the first matcha favorite recipe is Baked Donut balls with Matcha glaze from Roxan at Kitchen Meditation. Those balls are so adorable and the green glaze caught my eye. I remember having small donut balls when I was a kid and it brings back my good ol' memory. Roxan also has a couple wonderful matcha recipes. You should check it out.

Matcha Blueberry Corn Muffins from Nancy at Spicie Foodie. You can forget a basic corn muffin if you have these. The muffins are moist, fruity, and velvety with a hint of matcha.

You see how beautiful these matcha noodles are? Matcha Noodles with Basil Cream from Miriam at Miriam from Madri. I just can't stop looking at the noodles. Beautiful dish and the sauce is perfect. I wish I had a pasta maker! Is it my birthday yet?! Miriam also has a matcha tea and mascarpone tart that I note to self I'm going to make this.

Matcha Swiss Roll from Christine's recipe. I, in fact, attempted to make this ever since I saw it on the Foodbuzz top 9. However, my mission failed. I did make it but I wasn't able to roll perfectly like Christine's. It broke apart when I rolled it. Mine came out thick. So next time, I will use a wider tray or split into two trays. I also substituted coconut flour for corn flour and added shredded coconut for the filling. Although it didn't turn out perfect, it tasted great! I can confirm this (smile)

Matcha Tiramisu from Ellie at Almost Bourdain. Beautiful presentation and chopped pistachio on top is just so clever.

Matcha Checkerboard cookies from Biren at Roti n Rice. Biren and I can talk tea since we both love tea and matcha. Checkerboard cookies usually are a mix between cocoa or chocolate and vanilla. Playing it with Matcha is a great idea.

Last but not least, Matcha Vanilla, and Almond Sabels from Denise @ Quickie on the dinner table. Referring to the below photo, they were made by talented Joseph (Denise's son). Believe it or not, he's 12?! I was intrigued by the recipe and Joseph's talent. I decided to give it a shot. Mine wasn't golden brown like Joseph's. However, Denise said she wanted them to be green but with an inconsistency of the heat from her oven it created golden brown color highlights which I think are beautiful.

Here's my version

It tastes great. Thanks for the recipe Denise!

And..these are my matcha choc chip with macadamia nut cookies. Mine is like a baby compared to the above master pieces..

Happy lazy-Friday and Cheers to the weekend!
