New Schedule

By Clean Eating and Me (Visit website)

It's Monday and all the excitement of graduation weekend is supposed to be gone. But I'm still excited. I'm looking forward to the bar exams now. Yes, that's right- I'm looking forward to them. I always try to tackle new mountains with energy and excitement, rather than dread or nerves. That's how I began law school and that's how I'll begin studying for the bar exams.

This week starts my part-time work schedule. I'll be working Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. I'll be working early on Mondays, my regular time, but starting later on Wednesdays and Thursdays and hitting the gym before hand. This new schedule is going to take some getting used to- I've been on the old one for four years.

Yesterday I did some meal planning that incorporated our CSA goodies this week. Today we get our first share, so you can expect a post soon showing all our goodies. We got an e-mail of what the share will include and at this junction, it's going to be mostly greens. So I have lots of salad lunch/dinners planned for this week. We'll also get some asparagus, turnips, and radishes. No berries yet. In grocery shopping this week, we saved about $30 already, which is about 30% off our usual total!

For breakfast, I had my usual oatmeal with almond butter, banana, and chocolate Amazing Grass. I also had a black coffee.
Last night was a toss-and-turn kind of night. John was up late watching Lost which caused me not to sleep soundly until he came back to bed. Then around 3 am, my cat, Twister, started howling in the living room. And I woke up to see what was going on with her. Nothing that I could tell and she seemed fine this morning. But it disrupted my sleep. When my alarm went off, I hit snooze (very unlike me) but then John moved around and it woke me completely up, so I just got up without snoozing.

For lunch, I have leftover salmon and rice from Saturday's dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. I also packed some snow peas, applesauce, and yogurt with strawberries to have as snacks throughout the day. After work I'll be heading to the gym for a much-needed BodyPump class.

For dinner, we are planning on turkey cakes with fresh asparagus from the CSA and probably brown rice. Now I'm off to tackle my to-do list at work, which is suprisingly short for being out Thursday and Friday.
