Paruppu rasam
Ingredients :
Thuvar dal /Toor dal -- 1 tbsp Tomato -- 1 nos. Oil -- 1 tsp Mustard seeds -- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds -- 1/2 tsp Curry laeves -- 1 sprig Coriander leaves -- 1 sprig Tamarind -- gooseberry sized Rasam powder -- 1 tsp (optional) Hing --- a dash Turmeric powder -- a pinch Salt -- to taste To crush : Peppercorns -- 1/4 tsp green chilly -- 1 no. Cumin seeds -- 1/2 tsp Garlic -- 1 0r 2 pods (optional) Method : Boil the thuvar dal adding 1/4 cup of water and keep it seperately. squeeze the pulp from the tamarind n make it ready. Add the rasam powder,turmeric powder,tomato (crush the tomato using ur hand) along with the pulp and let it boil. Crush all the items given in the seperate table to a slightly coarse mix and add this masala along with the boiling rasam. add the thuvar dal soup also to this boiling rasam.Take a small pan and do the seasoning with the mustard seeds,hing and curry leaves and transfer this mixture to the rasam And finally add the coriander leaves and switch off.. related searches : Paruppu
