SPICY POMFRET FISH CURRY
INGREDIENTS : Fish (Pomfret ) -- 500 gms Lemon juice - 2 tbsps. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp Red chillies - 4 Turmeric powder - 1 tsp Salt to taste Green chillies - 2 Coriander powder -- 1 tsp Ginger- garlic paste - 1 tsp Mustard -- 1 tsp Bay leaf - 1 Onion - 2 nos For grinding : Mustard -- 1 tsp Kus kus - 1/2 tsp Cloves -2 Cinnamon sticks - 2 METHOD OF PREPARATION : 1) Marinate fish with limejuice, turmeric powder and salt for 1 hour. 2) Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the fish . Don't over fry , keep them aside . 3) Meanwhile , heat oil in a kadai . Once hot , add mustard , curry leaves , jeera , red chillies , green chillies and bay leaf and saute for 2 minutes . 4) Then add chopped onion and saute till tender .Mix in ginger-garlic paste . 5) Then add all the powders , grinded powder and salt . Mix them well and add a cup of water . 6) When it starts boiling , add the fish to it and cook with a lid . Cook till the oil leaves. I came to know of this curry from here .
