Swiss Grill: That Butchery Whips Up Mean Burgers
Why am I always searching for a good burger when I always know that this is good? Swiss Grill is just down the road from A's place and we quickly become regulars since it opened. Swiss Grill is never crowded and we always enjoy a simple nonetheless satisfying dinner at this place more known for its raw meat. The burgers are as faultless as its service. Granted it may not be as chi-chi as gourmet burger joints for Swiss is essentially a butchery. But what we are assured of is quality cooking and tip-top freshness always. Grilled Cod Fish Burger, $19.90 Sometimes I get insane cravings for salmon and cod. For a good slab of cod, I pop into Swiss Grill. The cod burger comes with two huge chucks of firm but tender cod seasoned with mustard. The tomatoes and lettuces are fresh and crunchy. Bun is lightly grilled with butter and lathered with garlic mayonnaise. Divine. Classic Bacon and Cheese Burger, $13.90 + $2.50 for a side of mesclun salad and fries A likes his vegetables but has occasional craving for some good grain-fed beef. There are days we order steak but this post is about burgers. I think it has something to do with the lightness of their sesame buns which juxtaposes its smokey char-grilled taste. We love their buns. There are onions, pickles and a great bbq sauce that come with the classic bacon and cheese burger. It never fails to please us. This is how I like my beef patty to look like. Slightly pinkish but not too much. By the way, we love their ketchup too. I do not know what brand is it but it goes extremely well with fries. The burgers at Swiss are great and their steak, pasta and sausages are good too. This is one no frills eatery that let their food speaks for itself.
