VW Outing to Fraser's Hill

By Ling's Passion (Visit website)

Hubby : Wanna go to Fraser's Hill during the Hari Raya break?
Me : What's the occasion and for how long?
Hubby : Its THE Gathering of VW (Volkswagen) fans for a night of fellowship on Fraser's Hill.
Me : The Gathering...Fellowship? Ya, would love to go.

My imagination quickly took a spin when hubby mentioned the word Gathering and Fellowship. These 2 words reminded me of the movie - The Lord of the Rings. If I am not mistaken the 1st sequel is called The Fellowship of The Ring. For a moment I wonder whether is this gathering was going to be as glamorous or not.

Well, it wasn't glamorous, so to speak. But we did have a lot of fellowship and fun. All of us went there with our VW cars. It was such a pleasant surprise to see various model of VWs; Golf Mark 1, Golf Mark 2, Corado, Golf Plus, etc. There were a few of them who came in their Golf Mark 1 Cabriolet and seeing them driving around with the hood down is just fantastic. That's when we really regretted not driving our Golf Mark 1 Cabriolet there.

As usual, when VW fans (I mean the guys) get together they speak nothing but how to modify their VWs from the bonnet to the engine and even wheels. It is amazing how these people never get tired off talking about the same topic over and over again at each VW gathering.
Besides the fellowship and VW talk shop, we also did some sight seeing. This is the Rest House at the Gap, on the way to Fraser Hill which was closed for renovation.

The weather on Fraser Hill was fantastic. It was cool and breezy, nothing like the hot and humid weather we get in KL. This is the picture taken from the balcony of our apartment (Pine Resort).

This is the Guthrie House. Look at the amazing colonial architecture.

Here's our dog, Jeanie enjoying her afternoon nap in this cool weather.

Overall, this trip was very well organised and it was a good break for all of us. Even our dog Jeanie agrees. :) Bravo to the organiser, looking forward to many more outings like this. So, Mr. Organiser when is the next outing and where to?
