By Bitter Sweet Flavours (Visit website)

...has to be chocolate.
Can't imagine life without them. They're so comforting, so heavenly..

Low-carbs means going flourless and no sugar!
(provided your chocolate is sugar free).
at least to me. So eat your sweets with pride.

Got to get back to study. Will be back to foodie blogging in a week time! Can't wait.

Chocolate Valentino Recipe
(Adapted from Sweet Treats by Chef Wan)

Ingredients:
455g semi-sweet chocolate, roughly chopped
145g unsalted butter
5 large eggs, separated

Method:

Preheat oven to 190C. Line an 8"/20cm spring form pan with parchment paper.
Melt butter and chocolate over a pot of simmering water (the bowl should not touch the water). Whisk egg whites at high speed till soft peaks. Care not to over whisk, else the texture of the cake will be dry. Whisk egg yolks in a separate bowl until light and creamy. Stir in the melted chocolate. Slowly fold in 1/3 of the egg white without deflating the batter. Fold in the rest of the egg whites until well blend (when there are no more egg whites are no longer white).
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25minutes or until a thermometer reads 60C.

Remove cake from the oven and let it set for 10minutes. Remove from pan and serve with ice cream, whipped cream, or just a touch of icing sugar!

Vanilla Sauce
400g of milk
60g of sugar
4 egg yolks
1/2 tsp of vanilla essence

Bring milk to boil. Mix egg yolks and sugar until well blended. Add them into the boiled milk. Remove from heat as soon as mixture thickens. Add in vanilla essence and set aside to cool.

As I made mine in cupcake sizes, I halved the recipe and I set some of them with vanilla sauce for a contrast! Happy baking!
