Ingredients

Number of serving: 8
16 oz self-raising flour

12 oz butter

9 oz caster sugar

6 eggs - separated

4 oz bittersweet couverture (cooking chocolate) melted

4  tablepsoons milk

2  tablepsoons green tea powder

1  teaspoon vanilla

A pinch of salt

Icing sugar for decoration - optional

Preparation

  • Sift flour with a pinch of salt, set aside. Melt the chocolate with the milk, set aside.
  • Whisk the egg whites till stiff, but not dry, set aside.
  • Cream the buter with sugar till light, fluffy and creamy, add in the egg yolks one at a time, mix well.
  • Fold in the sifted flour, mix well and add in the vanilla essence.
  • Fold in the egg whites and mix till well incorporated.
  • Divide the batter into 2. Add in the chocolate mixture into one batter, mix well.
  • Sift in the green tea powder into the other, also mix well.
  • Spoon batters alternatively into the lightly greased and flour dusted bundt tin.
  • Bake in preheated oven 180 deg C for 50 to 55 minutes. Test with skewer till it comes out clean.
  • Cool cake in tin for about 10 minutes. before removing the tin and let it cool on a wire rack.
  • Sift on icing sugar generously if desired.
