Oysters au gratin: the starter that will get everyone on board these Holidays (even those who don't like oysters).

During Holidays, raw oysters are often found on the table... but let's be honest: it's not necessarily everyone's favorite. The perfect alternative?

Oysters au gratin. Warm, melt-in-your-mouth, slightly crispy and fragrant, they're sure to satisfy oyster fans and skeptics alike. And best of all: they immediately create a festive atmosphere.

Oysters au gratin recipe (Christmas version)

Ingredients :

  • 6 oysters
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 shallot
  • 3/4 cup white wine
  • 2 tablespoons thick cream
  • grated cheese

Preparation:

  1. Open the oysters (or ask the fishmonger to do it for you - you don't have to suffer).
  2. In a frying pan, brown the shallot in the oil.
  3. Add the white wine, reduce, then stir in the cream.
  4. Pour the mixture into each oyster.
  5. Sprinkle generously with cheese.
  6. Bake in the oven at 390°F/200°C for 15 minutes, just long enough to brown and gratinate.
  7. Serve immediately!

It's simple, it's fast, it's delicious. And at the table, it has a restaurant feel with no pressure.
