A Season of Convenience

By Spice's Bites (Visit website)

That sounds like a romance novel title, doesn’t it? :)

As you know, it’s tax time and that’s when I do my usual disappearing act.  I also rely more on convenience foods because it’s just one less thing to have to think about.   I make no apologies for it, this is what works for Mr. Spice and me, so it is what it is.

Today I actually managed to take pictures of my food!

Breakfast:

Chobani 2% Mango-flavored yogurt and some fresh blackberries.  I love mangoes, so I was excited to try this.  If they made this in a 0% flavor I’d probably like it better, I’m so used to nonfat yogurt that the 2% felt a bit rich.  And it’s 160 calories, which is twice what plain nonfat yogurt is.

Blueberry muffin!  This went very well with my Earl Gray tea on this cold and rainy morning.

I met my friend Kelly and her cutie-pie baby daughter Natalie for lunch at Zoe’s Kitchen, which is located very near my office.   I’ve been there twice with her, and each time it’s been packed at lunch time.  And for good reason.  Zoe’s Kitchen serves up healthy Mediterranean food that tastes good too!

Today I ordered the chicken kabob platter, which comes with a side Greek salad and rice pilaf.  The chicken was perfectly seasoned, as was the rice, and the salad was just enough to round it all out.  I can see myself coming here regularly.

There were also some camera-shy baby carrots this afternoon.

I got home a little before 8 tonight and starving for dinner.  I figured tonight was a good night to try out the Green Giant frozen veggies I got through MyBlogSpark.  Check out the giveaway I’m hosting too!

I spiked this with some chili powder and hot sauce and ate this while I figured out what to do for dinner, which turned out to be pizza!

My own little personal pizza — I just added some turkey pepperoni and sausage crumbles to a pre-packaged pizza crust, some cheese, and sauce.

There’s just enough time for a quick bedtime snack!

Good night!
