Ingredients

Number of serving: 4
1 teaspoon olive oil

1/2 cup onions

1/2 cup tomatoes

1 clove garlic

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 can light red kidney beans

1/4 cup dry wheat bread crumbs

1 tablespoon wheat germ

2 tablespoons barbecue sauce

1 chia egg

Preparation

  • Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  • Add onion, tomato, garlic and chili powder.
  • Saute for about 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, coarsely mash the beans in a bowl.
  • Add in onion mixture, breadcrumbs, barbecue sauce, and the chia egg.
  • Shape into 4-6 balls, and place in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
