Barbeque Chops in Oyster Sauce
At last, it`s Friday.. few more hours to go and we`ll be enjoying hubby`s long vacation (holiday here in Japan, Golden Week), we`re supposedly going home, to the Philippines, sadly there are no more available flight schedule on our chosen date of departure, anyway.. hubby is planning a Tokyo Trip and I think will go visit Hachiko, the Akita dog whom I really adored, his dead.. will go visit his statue.. We had those grilled chops yesterday..lunch..also made some mashed potato with hubby`s requested mushroom gravy, and some blanched carrots, and fresh greens...cucumber and butter-head lettuce. Again, another barbecue experiment, what I love about Japanese meats are they cook easily and really really tender, plus I don`t have to marinate it for long hours, for some reasons they quickly absorb the flavor and fat melts just after a few minutes of grilling... And what I love about posting our experiment recipes online is that, it works as our recipe book.. `coz really after some medical procedure with anesthesia I tend to forget things easily, as such my/our experiments.. Just like earlier, I wanted to cook some shrimp and I wanted a taste similar to my drunken shrimp..so I clicked on my post and voila! well, I added a twist on my drunken shrimp recipe and it was superb, named it sweet and chili chicken and shrimp.... so much for that.. here`s another bbq experiment! Ingredients: 2 Pork Chops,1 inch thick Mixture: 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce (or 1 1/2tbsp..depends on your taste) 2 tbsp Soy Sauce 1 tsp sugar 1 tbsp sake Chili powder Black Pepper, ground Garlic Powder Procedure: 1. Combine all mixture ingredients in a bowl.. 2. Add Chops, marinade for 40 minutes to an hour.. 3. Grill chops, brush remaining sauce.. Serve with fresh greens..
