Belacan (Shrimp Paste) Fish Sambal (Gravy)
I shared my recipe of using belacan to prepare the "Shrimp paste (Belacan) Sambal Prawns" previously, this time its belacan with fish. Whichever type of fish you use will be fine. What was available for me at the hypermarket was the Mabong (Indian Mackerel). Ingredients: 7 mabong fish (or any fish of your own choice) Add some salt and saffron powder into the fish, mix in and deep fry) To Blend/Ground: 5 green birds eye chillies (optional) Other ingredients 7 shallots (sliced) 1 inch ginger (sliced into thin stripes) 4 cloves garlic (sliced) 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 stalk of spring onion (sliced) 5 tbsp olive oil salt to taste Method When oil is heated, saute shallots, ginger and garlic for 3-4 mins. Add in the blended chillies, salt to taste and keep frying until the oil starts to float.
Put in the fish as well as the lemon juice and stir into the gravy. Off the heat and lastly sprinkle the spring onions. related searches : Belacan
