Bramley Apple Cocktail
Now, a few weeks ago I had a delightful group in the restaurant one night. I really do mean that they were delightful and not in the sarcastic sense that they were the worst customers I ever served. Just before their main courses were about to come out one of the lads came over to the bar and asked if I could come up with a cocktail that tasted like Bulmers Berry as the young ladies at the table had been drinking it in the pub next door to the restaurant before they came in and had a real taste for it. So I put my quick-think cap on and came up with this concoction! I’ve since been told that there is a cocktail very much like this recipe already around, but I’m still proud that I came up with this in an instant and that it tastes as asked (like Bulmers Berry). So here is the recipe for anyone wanting to give it a shot at home or on the bar at work, easy peasy! For this recipe you will need: Ingredients 50ml x Calvados (apple brandy) or Brandy 45ml x fresh pressed apple juice 4 x Fresh raspberries 20ml x fresh lime juice 20ml x brown sugar or preferably brown sugar syrup Prosecco or any other sparkling wine Equipment Cocktail shaker, professional or home made Strainer or siv Ice First get the raspberries in the bottom of the shaker glass. Next throw in the apple juice, Calvados or Brandy, sugar and lime juice. Chuck in the ice and shake well until the raspberries have been smashed. Strain into a short ‘rocks’ glass filled with ice and top with the Prosecco and garnish with a slice of apple or a raspberry. This a great little drink and after a couple of these you’ll be feeling just as good as if you’d had a few Bulmers Berry, but no where near as bloated! Enjoy! related searches : Bramley Apple
