Cherry Cacao Oats

Good Morning and Happy Hump Day!

I was having a hard time getting out of bed today. I could of slept just a wee bit longer but am up and getting geared up for the day. This is turning out to be a busier week than expected with our little afternoon excursions downtown.

I believe that Emmet might stay home this afternoon with his Dad so I will be able to go and have a huge HOT run in Zilker Park. I am looking forward to it! I could use a big sweat and although the scale was back down... I would love to see it nosedive just a bit more and there is nothing like a hot sweaty run to do that!

With that said, I started the day off with an AWESOME bowl of Cherry Cacao Oats. This bowl is brimming with antioxidants and I really enjoyed the Cacao Nibs. They are a little bitter but between the cherries and drizzle of agave nectar I actually really liked them and the crunch that they gave to my oats. This felt like a special bowl of oats this morning.

Cherry Cacao Oats

1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup of water

Cook over medium heat for 4-5 minutes.

Top with:

1/2 cup frozen dark cherries, microwaved for 45 seconds
1 tablespoon wheat germ
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1 tablespoon cacao nibs
drizzle of agave nectar

Enjoy! This is a great use of the Cacao Nibs and I really enjoyed them in the oats.

So this will be another go, go, go day. And then when I get home I will be going straight to my training sessions. I like to keep busy so I think it will be a great day.

Off to get cleaned up so I can then get sweaty, sweaty!
