Chicken Chow Mein with Spicy Honey Chicken
![]() Yields : 7-8 servings Preparation time : 1 - 2 Hours CHICKEN CHOW MEIN Ingredients: * 2 packets of egg noodles * 2 medium chicken breasts ( cut into bite size ) * 1 Red Onion * 6-7 garlic cloves * 2-3 green chilies * 1/2 cup shredded Cabbage * 1/2 cup Spring onions * 1/2 cup carrots * 1/2 cup beans * 1/2 cup green capsicum * 1 cup mushroom * 1/2 cup beans sprouts (optional) * Chili flakes ( according to taste) * Soy sauce ( according to taste) * Thai sweet Chili Sauce ( according to taste) * 1 cube knorr chicken stock * Maggie Chili Garlic Sauce ( according to taste) * Vinegar ( according to taste) * Lemon juice (according to taste) * Salt and pepper * Cooking Oil FOR THE NOODLES: Boil water - Add salt and one tablespoon oil - once the water reaches a good temperature add the noodles and boil it for 5 minutes and once its cooked strain it and put it in cold water to stop further cooking of the noodlesThen toss the noodles in a pan with oil and fry it slightlyFOR THE CHICKEN : Heat the oil and add 2 teaspoons of chili flakes and fry the chicken cubes. then keep it asideFOR THE VEGETABLES: Finely chop all the above vegetables. Heat oil in the pan - First fry the onions till golden brown then add the garlic , green chili's and red chili flakes - green beans - capsicum - carrots - Mushrooms- cabbage - spring onions - knorr chicken stock cube - soy sauce - Thai Sweet Chili Sauce - Chili Garlic Sauce - Maggie Chili Garlic Sauce - vinegar- lemon juice - Salt & pepper to taste.Add the chicken and then the Noodles SPICY HONEY CHICKEN: Ingredients: * 2 cups chicken cut into cubes * Red Chili Flakes * 1 cup Spring Onions * 5-6 Garlic cloves * 2-3 Green Chilis * Thai sweet chili Sauce (according to taste) * Maggie Chili Garlic Sauce ( according to taste) * Tomato Sauce ( according to taste) * Honey 2-3 tablespoon * Salt to taste * Sesame oil ( or normal cooking oil ) * Corn Flour * 2 eggs MARINADE FOR THE CHICKEN: In a deep bowl beat eggs - 2 table spoon corn flour ( to thicken it a little) - 1 teaspoon red chili flakes - salt to tasteAdd the chicken to the above marinadeSet aside for 1/2 hour FRY THE MARINATED CHICKEN: Coat the marinated chicken with Corn FlourDeep fry the marinated chicken in a deep frying skillet - till golden brownSet asideFINALLY: sweat a little garlic , green chilies and red chili flakes in a panAdd 1/2 cup spring onionThen add the soy sauce - Thai sweet Chili Sauce - Tomato sauce- Maggie Chili garlic sauce - Vinegar - a little lemon juice and honeyAdd the marinated fried chicken to the mixturetowards the end add the rest of the spring onionsIt takes alot of time but its yummylicious...my sister and i usually prepare it together...Chinese is like our all time favourite since childhood and it all started by watching the very popular Chef Martin Yan from Yan Can Cook on KTV2 :) Note: We like it spicy but you can moderate the sauces and red chili flakes according to your taste :) Have a Fun Weekend !! :) related searches : Chicken
